Branding Social Justice
The North Park Environmental Justice Kit came out of a visit to a neighborhood called North Park in Long Beach, NY with a long history of suffering environmental racism--a term describing the disproportionate burden of environmental pollution shouldered by minority communities. The EJ Kit is an attempt at using product design to provoke a movement of civic engagement and self-advocacy within the North Park Community to the ends of improving social equity in Long Beach
